The Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Riverside (also known as the Riverside ReStore) is a non-profit, retail store committed to the success of Habitat for Humanity Riverside by providing on-going financial support through the sale of donated new and reusable home improvement items. The Riverside Riverside also serves as an alternative waste diversion option in the community. Customers who support our vision and make purchases with a repurpose in mind, and donors who give items a chance at a new life, are the cornerstone of our growth and success. On April 21st, Habitat for Humanity Riverside was honored with the Sustainability Award by the Riverside County’s Department of Waste Resources.
Following Earth Day, the Department of Waste Resources gave out Sustainability Awards to one organization from each district.
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Riverside operates as an environmentally friendly business by rethinking and repurposing materials daily, as it processes donations while evaluating items for reuse and, in turn, resale. Its business model is dependent on donated goods that are sold to fund the mission driven work of Habitat. Every donation made to the Riverside ReStore generates funds that go into building homes, communities and hope in our local communities.
The Riverside ReStore’s successes are attributed to commitment of staff, donors, customers, and volunteers who give of their time, talent and treasure.
