Volunteers from Manheim Wholesale Auctions gave up their Friday morning to help Gabriela with her home located in Moreno Valley’s Sky Trails mobile home community. Gabriela is a retired senior living on a fixed income and unable to afford home repairs especially for repairs on her porch steps which gave way causing her to fall and injure herself.
Everyone showed up early in their Manheim/Habitat for Humanity shirts. Don, who helped organize the company volunteer day, recruited volunteers from the California and
Nevada regions.
The day started warm and continued to get hotter, but everyone still worked joyfully and wholeheartedly. The large group split into 5 groups. Four teams painted the walls, one team started on trim, and several guys assembled a new porch landing, railings, and steps for Gabriella. In addition to the home being painted, new panels of the skirting were also painted and will be installed by Habitat volunteers later this week.
Thank you Manheim volunteers for making Gabriela’s home safe again with new steps and giving her home a newly painted look. The job looks great!
