Thrivent Financial awarded Habitat for Humanity Riverside with another Thrivent Builds Repair grant for a local veteran in need of home repairs. Frank, a former Army Veteran who served 8 years in the mid 1960’s, now lives with his wife Flora in Jurupa Valley. Frank and Flora live on a fixed income and are unable to pay for repairs to their home.

With the funding from Thrivent, Habitat for Humanity Riverside was able to replace Frank’s Garage door and opener as well as repair the front security door to make it sturdy and safe. Thrivent volunteers came to finish the final touches on Frank and Flora’s home. Volunteers worked hard to scrape and paint the trim as well as the high peaks on both sides of the home. Once the repairs and paint were done, everyone was amazed at the new look of the home.

Frank and Flora were touched by the work done by Thrivent volunteers and everyone involved. Habitat for Humanity Riverside could not have helped this deserving veteran without the financial support of Thrivent Financial and the help of Thrivent volunteers.
