5/21/2013: Levi Strauss Volunteers Came Ready to Paint

Often the safest, highest quality mobile home communities owe their quality and safety to strictly enforced community guidelines and mobile upkeep. The exterior of Pat’s home was badly faded and no longer comply with park standards.  Park management requested that Pat repaint her home but as a senior living in Village Riverside mobile home park on a fixed income, it was hard to do so.

Managers and employees from several Southern California Levi’s stores were eager to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity Riverside’s A Brush with Kindness Program to help paint Pat’s home.  The Levi’s volunteers came early Tuesday morning in their red shirts ready to help. Most of the volunteers had painted with Habitat for Humanity Riverside before and their work experience made set up easy.   After a quick orientation and devotion, the volunteers split up to paint the walls, sheds, awnings and trim.

The Levi’s crew moved along so quickly that we actually had time to send 6 volunteers to finish up a mobile home that needed some paint on the wheel chair ramp and awnings supports. The generous spirit and heart of the Levi’s volunteers was evident all morning. Thank you Levi’s for volunteering your time to help not one but two mobile homeowners.
