On Saturday, April 4, Riverside Community College Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society returned to paint another mobile home with Habitat for Humanity Riverside. These individuals whom we have work with before are not only scholars but are very hard working volunteers. Many of these students are on the path to transfer to a 4 year university to continue their education. We are glad that volunteering in their local community is still top of mind.

The volunteers were painting the home of Amalia and Jose in Villa Magnolia. Jose was feeling under the weather that day, but it didn’t stop Amalia from helping us photograph the wonderful volunteers.  She was even helping us move her garden decorations and furniture so that volunteers can better paint the home. She made sure we were as comfortable as possible and of course we made sure to make her home as beautiful as possible! Amalia and Jose even had ice cold water bottles waiting in their outdoor fridge for when the volunteers needed a water break.

The volunteers worked very hard that day to ensure that Amalia and Jose was happy with their freshly painted home. The best part of the day was seeing the students bond through their volunteer experience. The paint day was a success and we even finished earlier than expected.
