This past Friday afternoon was one of the hottest days so far and the Toro group was brave enough to volunteer their time to help Deloris, a senior homeowner, in the Riverside Meadows mobile home park with her lawn. Deloris was given notice by the mobile park manager to tend to her overgrown lawn but with such limited income, she is unable to pay for professional help. With Habitat for Humanity Riverside’s A Brush with Kindness program we were able to partner with Toro to help Deloris with her landscaping.

The Toro came energized and ready to work! Frank, John, Justin and Pete worked like professional gardeners as they trimmed the three trees. You could tell they had done this type of work before. The rest of the volunteers trimmed bushes, pulled weeds and even removed an old lattice metal side fence, which was on the edge of falling down. Fortunately, her neighbor had installed a new one to share.

When Deloris came out to thank all of her afternoon gardeners, she could not believe that the work was done in two hours. Thank you Toro, you all did Great!
