Bank of America Check Presentation Habitat
On August 24th, 2016, representatives from Bank of America presented Habitat for Humanity Riverside with a check for $50,000. Habitat Riverside will use the funds towards the building of a community of 26 single family homes for qualified veterans and their families on land in Jurupa Valley that has been vacant for many years. “In partnership with Bank of America, we will be able to help these 26 families on their journey to homeownership; from less than desirable conditions into safe, decent, affordable homes.” explained Kathy Michalak, Habitat for Humanity Riverside’s Executive Director.

Bank of America is one of our strongest community supporters. “We are grateful to their employee volunteers, who not only help us with the actual construction process on site, but also with financial coaching for the families, including the children, to ensure long term sustainability. We look forward to continuing to broaden the impact of our preservation and Neighborhood Revitalization efforts in the Jurupa Valley community.”

This was one part of Bank of America’s contribution of $207,500 to 20 nonprofits who work to increase access to affordable housing and support neighborhood revitalization in the Inland Empire. Funding will help individuals and families who are struggling due to a lack of affordable housing and broader needs related to community revitalization. This will also enable them to access the resources they need to lay a foundation for a stable financial life, and in turn, drive growth in the community.

“We’re honored to partner with leading nonprofit organizations like Habitat for Humanity that are addressing tough challenges in affordable housing.” stated Al Arguello, Bank of America Inland Empire market president. “Community development initiatives and revitalization efforts help strengthen the Inland Empire as a place where people want to live, work and do business, and leads to sustainable economic growth.”
