7/24/12: Wells Fargo On Site!

Did you know that change can come in the color Red?   The Wells Fargo Riverside volunteer group does. On the 24th at King Arthur mobile home park in Riverside, Wells Fargo volunteers all dressed in matching red shirts and this group came ready to paint. A few dads even brought their kids to help as well. It was another hot July day; we took care of the sunny sides of the home first and then tackled the cooler sides. At least that was the plan. The group kept going and finished slightly past noon.  The Wells Fargo volunteers went back to their regular jobs. And now their kids have a cool story to tell their teacher and friends when they go back to school about what they did during the summer with their dads.

They painted the home of Wendy Smith. Wendy is a grandmother who loves taking care of her five grandkids. But she is not always able to take care of her home the way she would like to because of a disability caused by a car accident.  Wendy did help for a while with her oldest granddaughter, Leti. She felt so blessed she insisted on helping. When it got too hot for her, she disappeared into her home and came out with homemade lemon-limeade and iced tea for the group. As the day went on, all she kept on saying was “Thank you “and “Is there anything else I can do for the group?”  Thanks Wendy, the homemade drinks hit the spot.
